Deese-Jeter went to Gardner-Webb from near by Prosperity, S.C. in the 2002-03 season. Deese-Jeter would then transfer to Newberry College in the 2003-04 season where she immediately made an impact for the Newberry Women’s Basketball team. Later in her collegiate career, Deese-Jeter would also join the Women’s Volleyball team in 2006. During her time at Newberry, Deese-Jeter earned second team All-SAC honors her freshman season after she averaged nine points and seven rebounds. Deese-Jeter helped usher in a new era of Women’s Basketball at Newberry leading the squad to back-to-back 18 win seasons. In 2005 Deese-Jeter would help lead Newberry to their first ever NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in program history. In 2006, Deese-Jeter would help lead the Indians to their first ever SAC tournament championship in program history. During her time at Newberry, Deese-Jeter had 662 points, 598 rebounds in three seasons. Deese-Jeter would end her career with a 44% field goal percentage. In her senior season, Deese-Jeter would play in 30 matches for the Newberry Volleyball squad where she had 146 kills on the season. After graduating from Newberry, Deese-Jeter would stay in her home county, working in the admissions office at Newberry College. In 2010 Deese-Jeter would be employed by the Newbery School District where she is currently the assistant principal at Newberry Middle School. Deese-Jeter would continue to coach girls basketball on the high school level, where she would lead the Newberry High School team to a SCHSL 3A state championship in 2018.
