Hall of Fame
Flick came to Newberry College from Chapin in 1924 where he earned the name because of his speed on the court. He was a three sport man who lettered nine times. Flick was All-State in 1926, 1927, and 1928 for both baseball and basketball. He later went on to play pro baseball with the Pittsburg Pirates. From 1946-1965 he was a sub scout for major baseball clubs and from 1965-1975 was a scout with the New York Mets.
