Newberry College Athletics

The Summerville native came to Newberry in 1957. He lettered in football each of his four years. His team honors include being chosen to the All-Little Three Team, NAIA District 26 Team, Lutheran College All-American, and Little All-American Team. In 1959, he was the leading rusher in the state and 1960 he set the college record for total rushing yards in a single season.
