Cara Jones was one of the pioneers of Newberry volleyball's rise and became the program's first student-athlete to record 1,000 career kills. She currently ranks fifth all-time in career kills, third in career blocks, third in career aces, and fourth in career points scored. Jones remains the program leader in both career and single-season solo blocks and ranks second in single-season total blocks. Her accomplishments earned her a place on the All-SAC Freshman Team in 2004, All-SAC Second Team honors in 2005, and recognition as an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection.Â
