Newberry College Athletics

Roy graduated in the class of 1936, after three outstanding years as a student athlete. He transferred to Newberry after his freshman year from a college in the Boston area. Roy’s home was Haverhill, Massachusetts. During each of his three years here, he lettered in football, basketball, & baseball and was one of the best on campus. He played as a pitcher and first baseman on the baseball team.  Roy was also a tackle on the football team & co-captain on the basketball team.
