Moses came to Newberry from Columbia S.C. in 1972 and became one of the highest decorated and honored basketball players in Newberry history. During his 4 year career Newberry’s record was an incredible 94-35. Moses was named All America honorable mention in 1975-76, All NAIA District 6 team 1973-76, Block n Club 72, 76, and All Lutheran College 74, 76.

He was named in 1974 Most Improved Player and in 1975 he was name to the Outstanding College Athletes of American Colleges and Universities. Moses led not only district 6 but was the South Carolina leading rebounder all 4 seasons and played in 3 district 6 all-star games. He finished his career at Newberry as a leading career rebounder and 2nd leading scorer. Moses is often remembered not only for his on-court contributions but also for the lives he influenced while a student at Newberry College.He became the first African American to play basketball at Newberry College and through his courage and dedication he helped lay a solid foundation for Newberry College Basketball and athletics in general.
