Holmes came to Newberry in 2006 out of Johnston, S.C., where he went to Storm Thurmond High School. As an Indian, Holmes was a part of two SAC championship winning teams in 2006, and in 2008. Holmes played as a Center for the Indians, where he became a three-time All-SAC selection from 2008-10. In the classroom, Holmes graduated from Newberry College with a 3.4 gpa. In 2011, Holmes was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. Holmes was named to the SAC Commissioner’s Honor roll in all four years that he played at Newberry. Holmes was named to the All-Super Region 2 Daktronics team in 2009 and 2010. In 2009 and 2010, Moore was selected as a Gene Upshaw Award semifinalist. In 2010, Moore ended up as a semi-finalist for the William V. Campbell trophy. After graduating from Newberry College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and Coaching, Holmes stayed beside the Gridiron as he coached on the division three level at Salisbury University in Maryland from 2011-12. Holmes continued as a teacher and a coach at Sussex Tech high school from 2013 to 2020. Holmes currently lives in Delmar, Delaware with his wife Christina and his two kids Jaxon and Harper. Holmes is currently the Phys Ed. Teacher at Woodbridge High School where he is also the Assistant Head Coach for the football team.
