Horace W. Tuberville was from Camden S.C. He first attended Clemson University and in 1958 transferred to Newberry College. Where he lettered in both football and baseball for 2 years. Horace served as quarterback on the last Newberry team to defeat the Citadel. He graduated in 1960. He returned to Newberry College to serve as head baseball coach from 1967-68, assistant football coach from 1960-76, instructor in physical education in 1960-73, assistant professor of P.E. in 1974-78, assistant to vice president of student affairs in 1960-78, and intramural director through 1960-78. He was captain of the football team in 1958.
