Newberry College Athletics

Billy is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and he came to Newberry College in 1923.

He played football and baseball in 1923, 1924 and 1925. Billy was the unanimous choice for All-State back in 1924 and in 1925.

In baseball, he was superior infielder and hitter. After leaving in 1925, he played pro baseball in Atlanta. He also played for Brooklyn, Boston, Detroit and Montreal. He died in 1946.
