Newberry College Athletics

Paul came to Newberry from Ashville in 1936. He lettered in football, basketball, and baseball every year he attended Newberry. In his senior year he was captain of the football and basketball teams. Paul was considered an outstanding pitcher in the state. In football, he was named All SIAA and to the Little All-American team. His collegiate success in football and baseball gave him the opportunity to play as a professional.
