Newberry College Athletics

Dusty came to Newberry College from Charleston in the fall of 1946. He lettered in football and baseball all four years. He was football captain his senior year. In 1948, he was on the All-State team, and in 1949 he was a member of the U.S.A. Team World Championship Football players where he played against the Canadians in an all star game. He was an “all around” man on campus and an all around athlete.
