Hall of Fame
Saylor is a native of Buena Vista, VA. He was a walk on at Newberry and started all four years. He was a member of the 1971 football that set the school record for interceptions with 41 in a single season. Saylor had contributed 6 that year and had 16 for his career. In 1973, he was named to Associated Press and the NAIA Small College All-American team. He earned his degree in sociology and now works the South Carolina Department of Youth Services. He is a loyal supporter of Newberry College and its athletic programs.
