He is a Columbia native who came to Newberry College in the fall of 1982. He worked his way into the starting lineup as a freshman. He became the Indians all leader in most of the passing records. He is the all time leader in total offensive (5,904), career passing (5,390), career attempts (744), career completions (372), touchdowns (34), most yards gained in a game (388), most rushing and passing yards in a game (435). He was the team’s Most Valuable Back his freshman year and team MVP the other three seasons. He was First Team All-SAC twice, Second Team All-SAC once, and District Offensive Player of the Year. He led his team to an upset victory over Furman. They finished the season with a 7-3-1 record and were ranked as high as #2 in the nation. He was named First Team All District for three seasons and Honorable Mention All-American his senior season. Following his collegiate career he played professionally in London. He graduated from Newberry College in 1987.
