Brown, a native from Elgin, S.C., was a four-year starter (2009-13) during his career at Newberry. Brown was a two-time NCAA qualifier and NCAA All-American after a fourth-place finish in the 149-pound bracket at the NCAA Division II Championships in 2013. At the time of his induction, Brown holds the school record for major decisions with 33, was tied for the most wins in program history with 143 overall and the single season record for most major decisions in a season with 14 in 2012-13. During his four years as a wrestler the Wolves posted a combined record of 72-10-1 and won four NCAA Super Region titles. He was named head coach of the Wolves wrestling program in 2021 leading them to a Super Region title in his first season. In his first four seasons he coaches three All-Americans and the Wolves have earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar-American honors 16 times. Brown was named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year after the Wolves finished 15th at the NCAA Championships.
