A native of Philadelphia, PA, Albert Baur etched his name in the Newberry College baseball record book in nearly every offensive category during his four seasons (2012-15) as the team’s first baseman. He was the first Newberry College baseball player to earn NCAA Division II All-America recognition which he achieved in his senior season in 2015. He was named a first team All-America that season after batting .427 with 24 doubles, 16 home runs and 59 RBI. At the time of his induction, he was the program’s career leader in hits (284), doubles (66), runs batted in (196), and total bases (447) and was also second in career home runs (29). He also held the single season records for slugging percentage (.796), doubles (24), and total bases (164). Baur also set single game records for runs scored and runs driven in a single game. He was a two-time, first team All-South Atlantic Conference selection and was selected as the Newberry College Male Athlete of the Year in 2015.
