Tim Medlin served Newberry College as the head coach of the baseball program for 17 years.

A 1982 graduate of Newberry College, Medlin was named the head coach of the Newberry baseball team prior to the 1989 season. It was in his first season at Newberry that Tim led the Indians to the NAIA District 6 Championship, a title the Indians again won during the 1992 season.

Medlin collected a historic win during his fifth season at Newberry as he led the Indians to the Little Four Tournament Championship defeating Erskine 3-2 and earning his 100th career victory.

Tim took the Indians into the South Atlantic Conference as he led Newberry to the SAC Tournament title in the program's second year in the conference. The conference tournament title by Medlin's 1999 squad was the first SAC tournament championship in school history.

In Medlin's 16th year at the helm, a dominant victory over then-13th ranked Francis Marion marked another highlight in the Newberry graduate's coaching career. On February 4, 2004, Medlin saw Newberry starter Stuart Kay toss a one-hitter as the Indians upset the Patriots 6-0 to secure Medlin's 350th career victory.

Medlin wrapped up his coaching career at Newberry with a 389-458-1 overall record.

After some time away from the diamond, Tim is set to rejoin the coaching ranks with the Fire Ants of USC Sumter entering the 2014 season.
