Newberry College Athletics

Clyde transferred to Newberry from USC and became Newberry’s most recognized basketball player. He was All-District and All-State in 1974, 1975, and 1976. He was named to the All-Lutheran team each of those years. He was the leading scorer in the state in 1974 & 1975.

Clyde was named to the NAIA All-American team in 1975 & 1976. He helped his team make the national tournament for the first time in his senior year. Clyde was the captain in both his junior & senior years and was named the Outstanding Senior Athlete.
