EMORY, VA. - The Newberry College women's rugby team finished Sunday with a 3-0 record at the Emory & Henry College tournament. The Wolves defeated Warren Wilson 14-5, Emory & Henry 19-15, and Guilford College 26-15

Vicky Noel and
Dantzler Long had a stellar performance on the pitch. Noel scored thirty points on six tries while Long scored 19 points with one try and seven conversions on the afternoon.Â
Game OneÂ
The Wolves defeated the Owls of Warren Wilson College 14-5 in their first match of the day. Noel and Long did all of the scoring for the Wolves. Noel had two tries and, Long had two conversions in game one.
Game Two
In game two, the Wolves defeated the host team in Emory & Henry 19-15. Sophomore
Savannah Armistead got involved in this match as she had two tries. Noel ended the match with one try, while Long ended with two conversions.
Game Three
The Wolves defeated Guilford College in the final match of the day in a high scoring contest 26-15. Noel had 20 points on 4 tries in the victory while Long had six points hitting three conversions.Â
The Wolves (4-2) will be back in action on Sunday October 1, as they will host a tournament at the College Street field. That tournament will go all day.Â
