Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, GA - The Newberry Wolves men's tennis team dropped a 6–1 decision to Georgia College on Monday afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Courts in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Doubles play opened the match, with GCSU securing the opening point after winning two of the three doubles contests. Georgia College picked up victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point, while Newberry earned a hard-fought win at No. 3 doubles. The pairing of Maxime Dierickx and Noel Bartz battled through a tight set to claim a 7–6 (7–5) win, giving the Wolves momentum heading into singles play.
In singles action, Newberry earned its lone point of the day at No. 3 singles. Senthen Reddy delivered a strong performance, defeating Jakob Andergassen in straight sets, 6–4, 6–2, to put the Wolves on the scoreboard.
Several other singles matches were tightly contested. At No. 1 singles, Daniel Watson pushed the match to a deciding tiebreak before falling in a narrow third-set tiebreak. Dierickx, Martin Posada Garcia, and Sohei Kamiyama singles all went to three sets, with GCSU ultimately pulling out each match to secure the overall victory.
The Wolves showed resilience throughout the lineup, competing deep into multiple matches, but Georgia College's depth in singles proved decisive as the hosts closed out the 6–1 win. The Wolves will return to the courts again on February 17th against Lander University at the Oakland Tennis Center.
