This week's Newberry College South Carolina Army National Guard Players of the Week are senior thrower Andrea Pascual Rivera and senior pitcher Ethan LeBron.
Pascual Rivera broke her own school record by winning the hammer throw at the Southern Wesleyan Gotta Run Invite. Her best throw of 173 feet, 7 inches broke her previous school record of 171 feet, 6 inches set in 2022. She set the mark on her fifth throw and owns the top mark in the South Atlantic Conference and 22nd best in the nation in NCAA Division 2.
LeBron tossed the first nine-inning complete game victory for the Wolves since April of 2023 in an 8-5 win over Coker. Lebron threw 127 pitches while allowing just three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts to help the Wolves earn their first SAC series sweep of the season. The victory was Lebron's 20th which is tied for third most in Newberry history.
