NEWBERRY, SC – Wolves baseball dropped a tightly contested SAC matchup to Lenoir-Rhyne, 2–1, Friday evening at the Smith Road Complex. The Wolves broke through with their lone run in the seventh inning but were unable to complete the late comeback after the Bears added a go-ahead homerun in the eighth.
Jacob Clark delivered a strong start on the mound, working eight innings and allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four.
At the plate, Keillor Osbon, Logan Busenlehner, Josh Bandy, and Bryson Nuckols each recorded hits as the Wolves finished with four in the narrow loss.
Focus turns to tomorrow when the Wolves finish the SAC series vs. Lenoir-Rhyne in a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.
