Harrogate, TN -  The Newberry Wolves women's tennis team secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Lincoln Memorial University, while the men's team fell 4-1 in a competitive matchup.

Women's Recap

The Wolves set the tone early in doubles play, claiming the doubles point with strong performances. The duo of Emma Arnal and Renee Dorval dominated their match, winning 6-1. Margarita Roshka and Alexa Gamborino-Suarez followed up with a 6-3 win, securing the doubles advantage. Hazel Vernon and Lina Sarhen's match remained unfinished at 4-5.

In singles action, Newberry battled through a series of close contests to clinch the win. Aina Miralles delivered a crucial victory (6-3, 6-4). Gamborino-Suarez put forth a commanding performance with a 6-1, 6-0 win, Roshka's match was left unfinished in the third set but showcased her resilience, winning the second set and leading in the tiebreaker.

Men's Recap

On the men's side, Newberry ultimately fell 4-1 against a tough LMU squad. The Wolves struggled in doubles play, dropping two matches while the pairing of Daniel Watson and James Vincent were locked in a tight battle at 6-6 when their match was left unfinished.

In singles, Joshua Fritz provided the lone victory for the Wolves, securing a 6-4, 6-3 win. Vincent had a promising start, taking the first set 6-2 before his match was left unfinished in the third set. Senthen Reddy was also in a competitive three-set match before play was halted. 

The Wolves will compete next this Tuesday at Oakland Tennis Center to face off against Anderson University
