LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – The Newberry men's golf team wrapped up the opening day of play at Windriver Golf Club, finishing in 20th place after two rounds of competition. Tom Hull led the way for the Wolves, turning in a pair of solid rounds to pace the squad.
Hull posted back-to-back rounds of 75 (+3), finishing the day at 150 (+6). He carded a consistent second round, highlighted by a pair of birdies, to match his opening-round score.
Christian Kuehl and Josh Greig both recorded opening-round 77s but had slight setbacks in round two, posting 75 and 78, respectively. Kuehl's second-round 75 was buoyed by a strong front nine, where he carded a 38.
Javier Borrego Martin showed improvement in the second round, shaving a stroke off his first-round 86 to finish with an 85. Carlos Camaros-Ruiz rounded out the Wolves' performance with an 82 in round two, bouncing back after a tough opening-round 86.
Newberry will look to climb the leaderboard in the final round of the tournament today.
