ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Newberry men's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Jay Jennison Cup, securing an eighth-place finish in a highly competitive 18-team field with a team total of +6 over three rounds at the Palencia Club.
Leading the way for the Wolves was Fredrik Gannon, who fired rounds of 69, 70, and 70 to finish 10th overall out of 96 golfers at -4. Gannon also provided one of the tournament's biggest highlights with a hole-in-one, adding to his standout performance.
Josh Greig closed strong with a final-round 69 (-3), vaulting up the leaderboard to finish T-29 at +2.
Julius Gieraths delivered consistent play, finishing T-35 at +2 after a final-round 73. Pablo Colin carded a 74 (+2) to finish T-71 at +12, while Jesper Gruendemann rounded out the lineup with a 75 (+3), placing T-77 at +10.
The Wolves saved their best for the final round, with three players shooting par or better, securing a top-10 team finishin one of the strongest fields of the fall season.
Next up, the Wolves will head to the Currahee Collegiate Invitational, set for October 6–7.
