NEWBERRY – This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Players of the Week are senior pitcher Olivia Chestnut (Mount Dora, Fla.) and senior midfielder Miles Jones (Jupiter, Fla.).

Chestnut pitched a no-hitter in Newberry's 9-0 victory over Tusculum in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.  She struck out eight and walked none over five innings and only a hit batsmen kept her from a perfect game.  She became the ninth pitcher in Newberry history to throw a no-hitter and the first since the 2020 season.

Jones scored a career-high four goals to lead the Wolves to a 20-14 victory over Anderson in the South Atlantic Conference tournament quarterfinals.  His third period goal broke a 7-7 tie to give the Wolves the lead for good and then added a pair of fourth period goals to seal the victory.  With Saturday's performance he has now scored a career-high 16 goals on the season.
