HICKORY, N.C. - Men's (4-6, 3-1 SAC) and women's (7-2, 3-1) tennis, continue their conference play after almost two weeks of no competition, against Lenior-Rhyne.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES
- The women's side comes in at #23 in this weeks ITA rankings, up four spots since last week.
- The men continue to find recent success now that the mainly new team has found chemistry.
- They are on a two game win streak, narrowly losing to Tusculum, which would have set their streak at four.
- The women are also on a two game win streak.
- Since early February, James Vincent, Noel Bartz, David Negzaoui and Joshua Fritz continue to consistently earn the Wolves points during most of their matches.
- The doubles team of Sofia Cardenas and Aina Miralles continue to shine, winning eight of their nine matches.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
- The mens team is 7-2, 4-1 in conference, while the women are 9-2 and also 4-1 in conference.
- In head to head match-ups both women's teams have almost the exact same outcomes as each other.
- The Bears lost their match=up with Erskine 3-4 while Newberry defeated the Flying Fleet 5-2.
- The Bear's men side has an advantage over the Wolves in head to head match-ups, out performing Newberry in the matches between Limestone and Mars Hill but still having the same end result.
- LR defeated Limestone 6-1 and Mars Hil 7-0 while Newberry defeated both, 4-3.
