NEWBERRY – Three former Wolves have been selected in the 2023 National Lacrosse League draft earlier last month.
Curtis Bukta,
Scott Reed, and
Briley Maxwell were selected in the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds of the draft.
Curtis Bukta was the first Wolf selected in the draft as he was picked by the Saskatchewan Rush with the 58
th overall pick. The Ontario native had 24 goals on 44 shots on goal last season for the Wolves. Bukta finished his career with 119 points scored with the Wolves on 83 goals and 36 assists.
With the 77
th pick in the NLL draft,
Briley Maxwell went to the Halifax Thunderbirds. Maxwell played in 16 games last season where he scored 26 goals and had 13 assists on the season.
With the 87
th pick in the NLL draft,
Scott Reed went to the Saskatchewan Rush with his teammate Bukta. Reed led the Wolves last season with 63 points on the season. Reed had 42 goals and 21 assists on the season.
