NEWBERRY – The Newberry men’s tennis team wrapped up fall action Friday against Emmanuel with a 9-0 sweep. Newberry moves to 4-0 on the season.
Newberry controlled doubles play to begin the match, winning all three matches in impressive fashion.
Edison Ambarzumjan and Jordan Monosky won No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-2. At No. 2, Nihkil Mannepalli and Angel Pizarro won 8-1. Logan Adkins and Richard Zeh completed the sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 3.
Newberry dominated singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.
At No. 1, Monosky was 6-0, 6-1 winner, while Ambarzumjan won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2. Mannepalli won via retirement after winning the first set 6-1 at No. 3. Pizarro, Adkins and Zeh all went on to win at No. 4 through No. 6 to close out the match for the Wolves.
