Box Score COLUMBUS, GA- The Newberry Women's Soccer team fell to #2 nationally ranked Rollins College, 3-0, during their last game at the CSU Collegiate Invitational.
Even though Newberry started taking shots early, the score was stuck at 0-0 until the 20 minute mark when Rollins scored their first goal. At the 44 miinute mark, Michelle Calmeyn hit a header toward the goal but it went wide of the goal post.
Rollins kept the lead going into the second half, where they scored two more goals. Three minutes into the second half, Erika Linch took a shot on goal but it went wide before taking another shot four minutes later. Lindsay Huber and Rachelle Serrano took one shot a piece toward the end of the second half also but did not meet the back of the net.
During the game the Wolves took four shots on goal but eight shots overall. Alexis Carrillo made 15 saves in goal for Newberry.
Newberry will travel to Tennessee on Friday, September 11 to play against Lee University at 7 p.m.
