NEWBERRY, SC – The Newberry Wolves closed out their 2025 season Wednesday afternoon, falling 3–1 to Anderson (S.C.) at Smith Road Complex. With the loss, the Wolves finish the year 5–6–4 overall and 1–6–3 in South Atlantic Conference play.
After a scoreless first half, the Trojans broke through in the 58th minute on a deflected shot before doubling their advantage in the 71st minute via penalty. The Wolves pulled one back in the 77th minute when Emily Castaneda converted on the penalty for her third goal of the season, but a late Anderson penalty in the 88th minute sealed the result.
Molly Quartly paced the Wolves' attack with four shots, while Sydney Gusewelle added two attempts and Madison Gutierrez finished with five saves in goal.
