Wolves fall short 6-3 versus Wingate

NEWBERRY - The Newberry College men's tennis team fell 6-3 in a conference matchup versus the Wingate Bulldogs at the Cannon Courts.

In doubles action Newberry picked up two-of-three points. In the No. 1 doubles pairing, Fernando Tous and Fernando Espana earned an 8-6 victory over Sebastian Hall and Neal Towlson. At the No. 3 matchup Jordan Monosky and Angel Pizzaro defeated Josh Eardley and Filippo Pezzoli 8-5.

Newberry picked up its lone singles point at the No. 1 slot Espana defeated Towlson 6-4, 7-6 (7-5)  Tous was able to win the second set of his match 6-4 but fell in the third set tiebreaker 6-0.

Newberry is back in action on Thursday afternoon versus Anderson at 2 p.m. from the Cannon Courts in Newberry.

6. Josh DuToit (WU) def. Richard Zeh (NBYM) 6-0, 6-4
