NEWBERRY, S.C. - A perfect day at singles and doubles play by junior Cal Loveridge was not enough for the Newberry men's tennis team, as the Wolves were topped 5-4 by the visiting Limestone Saints at the Cannon Tennis Courts.

Loveridge (Derby, Derbyshire, England) and partner Mohammed Chakir (Rabat, Morocco) opened the scoring for Newberry with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles. Down 2-1 after doubles, the Wolves earned their first singles victory of the afternoon at No. 2 as sophomore Vinicius Botelho (Fortaleza, Brazil) earned a victory over Mike Stephenson in straight sets.

Newberry earned a second singles point as Loveridge topped Abraham Lascari Diaz in two sets.

After the Saints clinched the match, freshman Carlos Nicolopulos (Valencia, Venezuela) earned a victory at No. 6 for the Wolves with the third set played as a 10-point tiebreak.

The Wolves scheduled home match on Sunday against Lees-McRae has been pushed back one day to Monday due to inclement weather.
