NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College men's tennis team was swept, 9-0, by No. 26 USC Aiken in non-conference action on the campus of Newberry College Monday afternoon.
The Indians' closest match came in No. 3 singles, as Maxim Sukharev (Vilnius, Lithuania) took USC-A's Bruno Seves to a tiebreaker after losing the first set 3-6, but winning the second set, 6-3. However, Seves took the tiebreaker, 10-4, to win the match.
Newberry returns to non-conference action on Wednesday, hosting the Pioneers of Spartanburg Methodist College, starting at 2:30 p.m.
