Men's tennis remains undefeated at home

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College (2-2) men's tennis team remains undefeated at home as they captured a win over Benedict College, 9-0, this afternoon.

The doubles duo of Oliver Elston and Toby Rawlings, playing the position of number two, defeated Fiaz Mohammad and Alan Ventour-Lewis, 8-0.  Also recording a shutout was the team of Felipe Sobriho and Christian Kotanen. 

In singles action, Daryl Van Vuuren, Toby Rawlings, Scott Gates and Pavle Popovic all defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Rounding out the singles, Elston defeated Shane Glasgow 6-0, 6-1, and Sobriho won against Alan Ventour-Lewis 6-1, 6-1.

Up next for the Indians is a match-up with No. 11 ranked Georgia College and State Friday, February 17 at 2 p.m. The Tigers will host Claflin College Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m.
