AIKEN, S.C.— Newberry College (1-2) Indians fell to USC Aiken (3-2) in two doubles matches to give the edge to the Pacers for the 6-3 victory at home Monday afternoon. USC Aiken gets its third-straight non-conference win as the Indians get their second loss.
The Pacers came out strong in doubles action with P. Negri/E. Horne shutting out K. Kotanene/P. Popovic 8-0 and D. Darezzo/C. Kaetz also sweeping 8-0 over T. Rawlings/O. Elston.
USC Aiken dropped two singles matches but came out on top with the number one, two, four and five singles all posting victories.
The Pacers will travel to Pfeiffer on Wednesday, February 15, to face the Falcons at 3:00 p.m. Newberry will face Benedict at home Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m.
