This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are junior third baseman Payton Little (Oakboro, N.C.) and freshman pole vaulter Ryan Wright (New Kent, Va.).
 
Little batted.571 and had a hit and scored a run in every game to help lead the Wolves to a 3-1 record last week.  She had eight hits in 14 at bats, drove in three and scored four runs including a tie breaking two run home run in a 5-2 win over North Greenville and scored the game winning run in the seventh inning in the Wolves' 4-3 win over USC Beaufort.
 
Wright became the first Newberry College pole vaulter to win the South Atlantic Conference Indoor pole vault championship.  He won with a best jump of 15 feet, one inch beating Cadence Dolgin of Carson-Newman in a jump off.  His winning jump was his best of the season and a school record.
