This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are sophomore tennis player Lina Sarhan (Maadi, Egypt) and senior attacker Matthew Burt (Delta, B.C.).
 
Sarhan swept both her singles and doubles matches last week as the #19 ranked Wolves improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the South Atlantic Conference while running the team's winning streak to seven consecutive matches.  She won her #2 doubles match 6-1 and #3 singles match 6-1, 6-1 in the 4-0 win at Mars Hill and 6-2 in doubles and 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in singles to clinch the victory in the 4-2 win at home over Tusculum.  Sarhan is 8-1 in doubles and 9-1 in singles this spring.
 
Burt scored seven goals, dished out an assist, and contributed two ground balls in the #17 ranked Wolves road sweep of #16 Catawba and #6 Lenoir-Rhyne.  He had four goals and an assist in the victory at Catawba and added the game winning goal in the victory over Lenoir-Rhyne.  Burt scored three of the team's final four goals in the 15-11 victory over the Indians and the game winning goal with one minute left in the third period to give the Wolves a 12-11 lead over the Bears, a lead their would never relinquish in the 16-15 win.
