NEWBERRY, SC - The Newberry women's tennis team continued its strong conference play Saturday morning with a decisive 4-0 victory over Emory & Henry at home.

Newberry claimed the doubles point to open the match. Hazel Vernon and Lina Sarhan delivered a dominant 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while Margarita Roshka and Aina Miralles secured the point with a victory at No. 3 doubles. The No. 1 doubles pair of Renee Dorval and Yui Suzuki led 5-2 before play was halted once the doubles point was clinched.

The Wolves carried that momentum into singles competition, where they quickly put the match out of reach.

At No. 2 singles, Lina Sarhan was in complete control, earning a commanding 6-3, 6-1 victory. Hazel Vernon followed with an emphatic 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles to extend the lead. The clinching point came from Simran Bundela at No. 6 singles, who was awarded the victory to seal the 4-0 team triumph.

Additional singles matches were left unfinished after the Wolves secured the fourth point. Margarita Roshka and Aina Miralles were both competing strongly in their respective flights, while Renee Dorval was also in the midst of a solid performance before play was stopped.

The Wolves will look to build on this performance as they continue conference play on March 4th at Mars Hill University.
