Newberry Falls at Carson-Newman in SAC Action

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-  The Newberry College women's basketball team (9–7, 3–7 SAC) fell on the road to Carson-Newman, but the Wolves turned in several steady statistical performances throughout the contest. Newberry shot 42.6 percent from the field and was efficient at the free-throw line, converting 11 of 12 attempts (91.7%). The Wolves were active on the glass, finishing with 38 total rebounds, and stayed within reach by limiting empty possessions and capitalizing on scoring opportunities when available.

Individually, Leigha Harris paced Newberry with 16 points and eight rebounds, shooting efficiently from the floor. Hannah Nimmo followed with 12 points, knocking down all three of her three-point attempts. Marykate Kent and Rickell Brown each added eight points, while Jada Brown contributed seven points and a team-high nine rebounds to lead Newberry's rebounding effort. Ryann Hernandez chipped in seven points, and Reghan Williams and Daria Clet provided additional production and rebounding minutes.

The Wolves will be back on the road to face Catawba on Wednesday, January 21, with a 5:30 PM start time.
