NEWBERRY, SC- Newberry College women's basketball delivered a strong team effort in a 65–50 contest against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday afternoon at Eleazer Arena. The Wolves came out with energy in the first quarter, limiting Lincoln Memorial to just 11 points while scoring 14 themselves, setting the tone for a competitive outing.
Leigha Harris led Newberry offensively with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while Rickell Brown contributed 13 points and five assists, consistently creating scoring opportunities for her teammates. Jada Brown added seven points and six rebounds, and Marykate Kent chipped in six points with three boards. The Wolves showcased solid defensive pressure and strong rebounding throughout the middle quarters, keeping the game competitive and demonstrating improvement in ball movement and shot selection. Newberry finished with 19 made field goals and a 55.6% mark from the free-throw line, reflecting the team's composure under pressure.
Newberry's record moves to 9–5 overall and 3–5 in SAC play. The Wolves return to Eleazer Arena on Wednesday, January 14, to face Wingate at 5:30 PM.
