This week's Newberry College South Carolina Army National Guard Players of the Week are senior tennis player Alexa Gamborino-Suarez (Mexico City, Mexico) and senior thrower Sean Price (Summerville).

Gamborino-Suarez posted an undefeated singles and doubles week as the #32 ranked Wolves went 2-1 to earn the #3 seed in this week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament.   She won all of her #5 singles, and #2 doubles matches for the week with her doubles partner Margarita Roshka.  Her 6-1, 6-3 singles victory helped the Wolves knock off Carson-Newman 4-0 and leapfrog over the Eagles to earn the #3 seed.

Price uncorked a season best in the javelin to win the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational at Lenoir-Rhyne.  His best throw of 185 feet on his second attempt to beat out the second-place finisher from LR by nearly seven feet and is the second-best throw in the South Atlantic Conference this season.  Price also finished third in the hammer and has the fourth best hammer throw in the SAC.
