Haidyn Campbell and
Samantha Clark combined for 10 hits and 14 runs batted in as the Wolves swept the Erskine Flying Fleet 9-2 and 12-7 in Due West.
With the sweep the Wolves have won six of their last eight games to improve to 20-21.
Lindsey Foster won her ninth game of the season in the opener, pitching a complete game, five-hitter while allowing just one earned run.
Maddy Staples scored four runs and had three hits, Campbell and Clark each had a pair of hits while driving in three runs apiece and
Christine Butler and
GraceAnn Thompkins each had two hits and scored two runs.
In the nightcap, the Wolves jumped out to a 6-1 lead and after Erskine tied the game at 7-7, Newberry five runs in the sixth inning to secure the sweep.
Samantha Minick and Foster combined to toss 4.2 innings of four-hit, one earned run relief to secure the victory. Minick was credited with the win to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Campbell drove in runs with singles in the first and third innings while Clark's three-run home run and
Payton Little's sacrifice fly capped off a five-run inning to stake the Wolves to the 6-1 advantage.
The dynamic duo of Campbell and Clark came through again in the sixth with each singling to drive in the first two runs,
Ella Stone driving in a run with a double and Little grounded out to drive in the final run of the game.
Newberry hosts Lincoln Memorial Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Smith Road Complex. Â
