A well-rested Newberry College men's wrestling team travels to Pembroke, N.C. Saturday to take part in the NCAA Division 2 Super Region 2 Tournament on the campus of UNC Pembroke.

The top three finishers in each weight class will advance to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. March 14-15.
This is the Wolves first competition since February 6
th at Mount Olive.
Fifteen teams will be competing at the Super Region tournament.
Leading the charge for the Wolves is senior
John Parker, a first team All-Conference Carolinas pick, who is 22-7 on the season and ranked #12 in the country at 197 pounds.
He has won nine of his last 10 matches, five of them by fall and one other by technical fall. Parker won the Super Region title a year ago and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Junior
Andrew Reed, also a first team All-Conference Carolinas pick, is also seeking a return trip to the NCAA Tournament after finishing third at 184 pounds a year ago. Reed heads to regionals ranked #17 in the country in his weight class with a 12-7 record.
Senior
Kale Schrader, a third team All-Conference Carolinas selection, has had a solid second half of the season at 285 pounds, winning seven of his last nine matches for an overall mark of 9-8.
Last year the Wolves finished third in the team standings Super Regionals with Parker, Reed,
Zach Shupp,
Devan Moore and
Devon Rice all advancing to nationals.
Moore took eighth at 149 pounds to earn All-America honors.
