The Men’s Wrestling Pin Pool is back and set to launch during the team’s Annual Phone-a-thon on Wednesday, October 15th from 7:00pm-8:30pm when our wrestlers will hit the phone lines to ask our alumni, family, and friends to join!
Pin Pool Update:
The team currently has 63 pins, and we are earning $326 per pin! Kale Schrader (285lbs) and Chance Jackson (285lbs) are in a two-way tie for most pins right now with 6 each. John Parker (197lbs) trails closely with 5 pins on his own. Schrader captured our fastest pin to date last night when he put away Daniel Silver of Emory & Henry in just 21 seconds. Hunter McCullough (125lbs) has the second fastest pin. He stuck Barrett Bridgmon from Montevallo in 27 seconds with a roll though tilt at the King Open this past Sunday. What is the Pin Pool?
The Pin Pool is a club of Newberry College Wrestling supporters that you can join with a pledge to give a specific dollar amount for every pin the team accumulates over the course of a season.
For example, if you pledge to give $1 per pin and the team finishes the season with 90 pins, your gift amount would be $90 at the end of the season. If the team finishes with 90 pins and you pledged to give $2 per pin, your gift would be $180. For reference, we finished last season with 87 pins and brought in about $300 per pin in actual pledges received.
Supporters can join the Pin Pool at Four different levels for different rewards.

When would I send in my pledge gift?
Pledges are not due until the end of the season in March! However, new this year, Coach Brown will make a “pay as you go” option available to members. Until then, all Pin Pool members receive monthly updates via email, social media, and the Pack Leader Podcast on the team’s running pin total. Members also receive stats on which wrestlers have the fastest pins, most pins, etc. At the end of the season, Coach Brown will email each individual member with pledge fulfillment information on how to give your tax-deductible Pin Pool gift.
Your gift helps to supplement our annual operating budget for facility maintenance and upgrades, recruiting, tournament entry fees, competition travel, team meals, team lodging, gear, training equipment, and enhancing the overall student-athlete experience here at Newberry College.
