NEWBERRY, SC – The Newberry College volleyball team delivered a strong all-around performance to sweep Coker University 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-23) on Tuesday night in Eleazer Arena.
The Wolves (8-6, 3-5 SAC) were led by Anna Schneider, who posted 16 kills, six digs, and two service aces while hitting .244 on the night. Jana Price added 11 kills and nine digs, just missing a double-double, while Gabby Warren anchored the front line with five total blocks and two kills.
Setter Merryck Brackett controlled the offense with 31 assists and 11 digs, while ZaKhia Davenport added 14 digs and two aces from the back row. Madison Watson chipped in three kills and a block, and Carole Ann Hussey and Samantha Shaffer combined for six additional kills to round out the day.
Newberry hit .202 as a team, finishing with 41 kills and seven aces while holding the Cobras to just a .122 hitting percentage.
Following the win, the Wolves will face off tomorrow night vs. USC Aiken at 6pm in Aiken, SC.
