ANDERSON, SC – Newberry Wolves Go Down in Tough 73-45 Loss vs. Anderson

Despite a valiant effort from Jess Tomkins, who posted a near double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds, Newberry fell to Anderson 73-45 in a challenging road game. The Wolves fought hard but were ultimately outpaced by Anderson's strong squad.

 

Jess Tomkins led Newberry with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and a block, helping the Wolves on both ends of the court.

 

Newberry's bench contributed 25 points, with Caylin Moment leading the reserves with 9 points and 2 rebounds.

 

The Wolves grabbed 41 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards, with 7 second-chance points.

 

Anderson tallied 15 steals and held Newberry to just 3 points in the second quarter, building a commanding halftime lead.

 

The loss puts Newberry at 5-9 overall and 4-6 in SAC play, as they look to regroup for their next matchup vs. Carson-Newman at home in Eleazer Arena at 12pm on January 11th.
