Marykate Kent shined for the Wolves, scoring a team-high 21 points on an impressive 7-of-11 shooting from three-point range. Despite her efforts, Newberry was unable to overcome Carson-Newman's balanced attack, falling 79-59 at Eleazer Arena in a SAC contest.
Kent drained 7 three-pointers, accounting for nearly half of Newberry's scoring output.
Ella Pearson added 7 points and 3 rebounds from the bench, shooting a nice 3-of-4 from the field.
Jess Tomkins recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block, playing a key role in controlling the paint for the Wolves.
Newberry's bench contributed 38 points, with contributions from Caylin Moment and Jayla Cook.
The Wolves shot a solid 40% from three-point range (8-of-20) but struggled to score consistently inside the arc.
