Newberry Falls to Emory & Henry in Road Loss

The Newberry Wolves faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 86-46 at the King Center on Saturday afternoon. Jess Tomkins and Hannah Nimmo remain sidelined due to injury.

Marykate Kent showcased her shooting ability with a team-high 10 points, hitting three shots from beyond the arc. Julia Paoletta displayed efficiency, contributing eight points on an impressive 80% shooting from the field.

Ella Pearson made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, tallying five points, five rebounds, and two steals. Lauren Livingston provided defensive stability with a block and added four points to the scoreboard. The Wolves' bench made a significant impact, contributing 23 of the team's total points and demonstrating the team's depth and resilience.

Newberry battled hard on the boards, securing 38 rebounds, with Khia Lee leading the charge with six. The Wolves showed their ability to capitalize on opportunities, converting six free throws and consistently creating scoring chances.

The Wolves' record now stands at 5-14, with a 3-5 mark in SAC. Their next game is against Catawba on January 29th at 5:30 PM, as they continue their road trip.
