NEWBERRY, S.C. - Women's lacrosse sees 16 different Wolves score in their win against Emory & Henry 22-2. With a win margin of 20 goals, the 2023-24 squad breaks the previous record of 17, set back in 2022 where the Wolves defeated Converse, 19-2. Newberry also ties their record for the most amount of points scored in a game at 36. This record was set in 2022 against Emmanuel.
This game features the lowest amount of goals scored against the Wolves this season as well as an abundance of person records for the Wolves. For junior goalie
Mackenzie Dorr, this was her first game where she saved 100% of shots. Dorr saved four shots before being subbed out at half-time. Along with this, Dorr is now third in program history in career wins as a goalie with 10, trailing behind Brandy Bowman (16'-19') with 15.
Cassell Richardson led the Wolves in overall points today with six, scoring two goals and finding four assists.
Marissa Plumer and
Jadie Burns led the Wolves in goals in registered a hat trick, scoring three a piece. However, Plumer surpassed Burns in points by finding one assist.
Ella Todd had herself a day, tying Richardson in assists with four. Todd also found one goal, moving her point total to five.
Freshman
Aniella Casper and Delany Harrison found their first career goals in the match. Late in the third period, Casper took the ball on the right side of the GLE where she then split her defender, giving herself a lane to get a door step goal to put the Wolves up by 16. Harrison was the last Wolf to score in regulation.
Olivia Travassos was working the ball below GLE where she saw Harrison wide open, cutting to the goal. With a lob Travassos got the ball to Harrison where she knocked it in, finishing the Wolves six score run.
Senior
Siobhan Millham found herself at the helm of this Wolves defensive squad. Getting her first career start, Siobhan was a lock the second the game start. Not allowing a single shot to be taken off of her, Millham caused two turnovers and scooped two ground balls. Captain
Madalyn Messersmith and Todd also registered two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

The Wolves also led the game in ground balls and draw controls. Newberry scooped 26 ground balls compared to eight by the Wasps.
Hannah Davis led the team with three while Saylors, Bond, Elias,
Morgan Parsons,
Marin Paulenko, Millham and Todd had two. The Wolves won 18 of the draw controls with Elias leading the way, registering four wins. Jobs, Parsons, Bond and Howell all had two wins.
The Wolves will celebrate their annual senior night, where they will recognize eight seniors on Saturday, April 6th at 1 P.M. against Mars Hill.
