ROCK HILL, S.C. – Kegan Crowell of Newberry's Track and Field team was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Field Athlete of the Week this afternoon in a press release.

Crowell, now a three-time winner of the award this outdoor season, won the discus throw event at the Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina last week. Crowell's throw of 54.17 meters (177 feet, 9 inches) breaks his own Newberry record and has him atop the SAC Outdoor Performance List. He is also 11th in Division II at the time of this writing.

The Wolves return to action this Friday and Saturday (April 26 and 27) at the Appalachian State Open in Boone, North Carolina.
